Carl Showalter
President / Founder - Virginia Military Institute 1982
Carl graduated from Virginia Military Institute with a degree in civil engineering and began his career with Crowder Construction. He founded Showalter Construction in 1986 with rented equipment and a vision of growing his business on a foundation of trust. Carl brings the same values to his workforce where the average employee tenure is more than a dozen years, allowing Carl to nurture and groom the next generation of company leaders from its own ranks. “When I’m dead,” Carl said, “I want people to say that guy did it right.”
